Babyproofing your home: a room-by-room checklist

By Team Kitly · Pharmacist reviewed

Get down to your baby's eye level and look around. That's where the risks are.

Living room

  • Socket covers, corner guards, wires out of reach
  • TV and shelves fixed to the wall
  • Curtain cords tied up high

Kitchen and medicines

  • Medicines locked up high, never in handbags or on tables
  • Cleaning liquids, phenyl and acid out of reach
  • Pot handles turned inwards

Water

  • Buckets always empty; a baby can drown in a few centimetres of water
  • Bathroom doors closed, tanks covered

Small things

  • Coins, buttons and especially button batteries and magnets out of reach. If swallowed, go to hospital straight away

Kitly Honey includes corner guards (socket guards too in Premium) and a Babyproofing Checklist card.

General information only. Always follow your doctor's advice for your baby.
